Lifeguard
The Sunnyvale homeowner's association is seeking candidates for a lifeguard position for the upcoming pool season. The pool opens the first weekend in May and closes by the first weekend in September. Candidates who are interested in the position should have prior pool experience and have the ability to work flexible shifts throughout the summer with exceptions being made for school-related obligations. Those interested in the position should have excellent skills in the water and reliable transportation. Successful applicants will also be considered for swim team coaching and swim lesson positions that provide extra pay and extended hours. Prior experience is a major plus.

Candidates interested in this position should have the following skills:
- Strong swimming skills;
- Strong observation skills;
- An excellent level of concentration in various situations;
- Strong communication skills, especially in an emergency; and
- The ability to keep calm and act quickly in an emergency.
Extra duties of the lifeguards at Sunnyvale may also include:
- Providing supervision in different pool areas;
- Rescuing swimmers in danger;
- Giving first aid in medical emergencies;
- Advising our homeowners in pool safety including diving boards and slides;
- Checking pool water temperature and chemicals; and
- Cleaning the pool area and setting up/putting away equipment.
